Award's
	An award is something given to a person or a group of people to recognize excellence in a certain field. Awards are often signified by trophies, titles, certificates, commemorative plaques, medals, badges, pins, or ribbons. The Houston Ground Angels have received various awards for our outstanding service and commitment to Who We Are and What We Do for our patients and those who need our help.
Texas Conference for Women
November, 2010	Houston Ground Angels grew out of a concern, recognized by 2010 Texas Conference for Women speaker and HGA founder Kathy Broussard, that many patients who fly to Houston for medical treatments did not have anyone to meet them, creating stress and fear of being in a unfamiliar territory. Plus, if they fly commercial flights the stress and weariness of walking through terminals from parking lots, then landing and renting a car or taxi also creates additional expenses many cannot afford when dealing with a stack of medical bills. CNN Heroes
	---Kathy Broussard and Houston Ground Angels recognized by CNN Heroes. Full Story & Video>>.. . The 2010 CNN Hero of the Year Chosen!. Congratulations to Anuradha Koirala of Kathmandu, Nepal for winning the CNN 2010 Hero of the year award. Her work in rescuing girls from sex slavery in Nepal is not only inspiring but vary deserving of this prestigious award. See stories and videos of all the CNN Heros. ... Here>>. The competition for this award was tremendous this year and to be included in such a unique group has been a honor and a blessing. Don't miss the wonderful letters to Kathy from a couple eighth graders in Spirit Lake Iowa Middle School !!
Jefferson Award - 2009
January, 2009	January 6, 2009 - Kathy Broussard awarded Jefferson Award Dealing with cancer or any serious illness can be one of life's biggest challenges. Volunteer Houston Award - 2009
May, 2009 www.volunteerhouston.org	The Houston Ground Angels was honored in a Salute to Volunteerism at Hilton Americas Hotel on May 14, 2009. The Houston Ground Angels is one of only two organizations receiving this award this year. Mayor Bill White was on hand to present the awards. Assisting the mayor in these presentations were local TV personalities Melanie Lawson-KTRK Channel 13, Greg Hurst-KHOU 11 and Jerome Gray-KPRC 2. The Houston Ground Angels were pleased to be selected for this significant distinction in its continuing effort to serve others. Pete Peterson and Arthur Cole discus Houston Ground Angels with Walter Black (Volunteer Journal) on HTV - Houston Television. NOTE: In this video our name is refereed to as Houston Ground Angels & Pilots. We have since reverted back to our original name of just Houston Ground Angels.
