IF you would like to volunteer as a Houston Ground Angel but not able to be a volunteer who provides ground transportation to and from the various airports around Houston. We have many other opportunities for you to serve. Please! Volunteer
The Houston Ground Angels is a network of volunteers who donate their time to help provide free healthcare access to patients in need of transportation to and from their required healthcare facilities.
We help people in need of free ground transportation for medical and humanitarian purposes.
NO! The mission statement has not changed as to Who We Are and What We Do!
Only the Air portion is being removed!
In recent years the number of air transportation requests we receive has declined greatly. There are many private and corporate organizations throughout the US who provide free air transportation into the Houston area and we interact and partner with them on a daily bases. The overall HGA air mission requests we receive at this time represent less than 1% of our total mission requests.
Based on these facts the Houston Ground Angels Board of Directors has unanimously decided to no longer accept air mission requests and focus totally on areas that will better serve our patients and their ground transportation needs.
We will assist in any way possible those patients looking for air transportation by referring them to the organizations we partner with who provide air transportation but we will no longer coordinate or post air missions on our web site.

Texas Conference for Women
November, 2010
Houston Ground Angels grew out of a concern, recognized by 2010 Texas Conference for Women speaker and HGA founder Kathy Broussard, that many patients who fly to Houston for medical treatments did not have anyone to meet them, creating stress and fear of being in a unfamiliar territory. Plus, if they fly commercial flights the stress and weariness of walking through terminals from parking lots, then landing and renting a car or taxi also creates additional expenses many cannot afford when dealing with a stack of medical bills.
