I was priveliledged to know Allen.I am from his generationso
we had a lot in common.I found it was a blessing to have
him as a friend.I always admired Allen for his determination
to live life to the fullest inspite of some health problems
that few could handle and no one better than Allen. We need
more men like Allen to set examples for our young people
today.Allen was a fighter and did not know how to quit or
fail to make the best out of some difficult times.I am proud
to say it has been a blessing to have a true friend like
Allen.May God Bless the loved ones and many friends of Allen

Allen became my best supporter for compiling Taylor family
history. His encouragement was appreciated. Maybe, now,
when I think about the stamina and effort Allen put into
every day of living, I will get the critical part - the
parents of our great, great grandparents. We were blessed
to have had him with us this long.

I have fond memories of Allen. I was Rick's secretary for
several years and remember he always had a kind word to
say and brought me flowers from his garden and fresh baked
goodies. He was a special man and he will be missed.

When I was a poverty stricken college student (now I'm a
poverty stricken college professor)I got a co-op job in
Freeport, Tex. I needed a place to live, but the only places
I could afford were s--- holes. Uncle Allen found out about
my situation and offered to let me stay at his very nice
beachhouse for free! It let me save money for grad school.
He was a great guy, and I'll never forget him.

Jim & I met Allen a few years ago. We were so impressed
with his outlook on life. He had had his trials with his
health prior to our meeting him. Even through his daily
obstacles he was so very positive, happy and sincere. That
meeting began a long email relationship. I never emailed
Allen that he did not respond very quickly. He was always
so compassionate, wise and pleasureable to communicate with.
I always appreciated his advice and his sincerity. The world
is a richer place for having Allen Taylor in it. I miss
not being able to communicate with him. We will never forget
Allen Taylor.

We are part of the Ground Angels Program and feel about
the program as Mr. Taylor did. We did not personally know
him but felt like we did. We are hoping to meet and transport
the patients he handled. What a teacher and
an example for all the rest of us - not only in this program
but also in our lives.

Thank you to those of you who have shared glimpses
into Allen's life and personality. He was my husband's grandfather,
but I never was able to meet him in person, so am thankful
to read these things...

Hello! I am a friend of Angel Flight and the Ground Angels
and also of Kathy Broussard. I did not have the honor of
knowing Mr. Taylor but felt like I did through Kathy. What
an inspiration he was and continues to be for all of us.
What strength and courage and what humanity. He truly understood
what the Angel Flight patients were going through and he
continued to help throughout his own obstacles. How blessed
this world has been that Allen Taylor was part of it.

When I am gone, release me, let me go,
I have so many things to see and do,
You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears.
Be happy that we had so many years.
I gave you my love, You can only guess,
How much you gave to me in happiness.
I thank you for the love you each have shown,
But now it is time I travel alone.
So greive a while for if grieve you must,
then let your grief be, comforted by trust.
It's only for awhile that we must part,
so bless the memories within your heart.
I won't be far away, for life goes on.
So if you need me, call and I will come.
Though you can't see or touch me, I'll be near.
And if you listen with your heart, you'll hear,
All of my love around you, soft and clear.
And then, when you must come this way alone,
I'll greet you with a smile, and say,.......
"Welcome Home"
